The Frasassi Caves are one of the most spectacular events in nature. Discovered in 1971 by some components of the Gruppo Speleologico Marchigiano (Club alpino italiano di ancona), they have been open to the public in 1974, after a long tunnel had been built.

The dimentions are enormous, the major cavity, called "abisso di Ancona", is one of the biggest in Europe and in the world, it is 200m high, 180m long and 120m wide (to give a reference point we can say that it can perfectly contain the Milano Cathedral), this cavity is just one of the many others. Together with the impression of going into a subterranean world, the visitor is soon attracted by the nature that, by the work of the water and time on the minerals, has produced an explosion of shapes and colours mixed together in a beautiful harmony.

The place has been exploited by the lighting created by the art director Cesarini da Senigallia, who emphasised the enormousness of the "Giganti" and the fascination of the "Capelli d'angelo".
