The combination of these three elements is so perfect here that the Altometaurense area Gives a rich production of truffles of great quality, they may reach big size, even more than 1Kg. of weight.</font><p><font face="Century Gothic, Helvetica, Verdana, Arial" size="2">In this area you can also find the praised black truffle (Tuber Melanosporum Vitt), it can be found in periods different from when you can find the white truffle.</font></p> <p><font face="Century Gothic, Helvetica, Verdana, Arial" size="2">The conditions of the soil have made this land a very important one for the truffle trade as well as a very economic activity, in fact many exhibitions and fairies are held in Autumn in many centres of Altometauro and of Alta Valle del Tevere.
